Fund a Business Launch
Some people want to fund Experiment Inc. itself and trust us to put the money where it's needed. Some want their gift to go somewhere specific — a particular business, in a particular place, doing a particular thing.
Back One Enterprise, Not the Whole Idea
This is for the second kind.
What There Is Today, Honestly
One. Kingdom Worx, in Kawangware. (The whole story → Projects.) We're describing this avenue as though there were a catalogue because that's what it's built to become, and because the shape of the decision won't change when there are six. But today there is one enterprise, and we'd rather you know that going in than discover it after you've read three paragraphs about choosing between projects.
The Shapes This Takes
As the engine runs, there will be enterprises at different stages, in different countries, meeting different needs. People tend to arrive with one of four things already in mind.
A place you care about
This is the most common one. You have a country, a city, or a specific community that has your attention for reasons you may not fully be able to explain — and you'd rather your giving went there than into a general fund that might send it somewhere else. Fund the project in that place.
A stage you care about
Some people are drawn to the beginning: the risk, the first hires, the thing that doesn't exist yet.
Others would rather find a business that's nearly working — one that needs a specific push to turn the corner and become self-sustaining — and be the push. Both are real, and the second is badly underfunded everywhere, because it isn't a launch and doesn't feel like one.
A partner ministry you already trust
Some of our enterprises will run alongside another organization — an orphanage, a church-planting effort, a ministry serving people coming out of incarceration or addiction. If you already support one of those and you can see why a real business next to it changes what they're able to do, that's a place to give. (How those partnerships work → Nonprofit Partnerships.)
A business idea of your own
This one surprises people. If you're carrying an idea for a business — and you'd rather see it built and owned by the mission than owned by you — come and talk to us about launching it here.
We should be honest that this is the hardest of the four to do well, and the one most likely to take time. It's also the one that could matter most, because it's how this stops being our imagination and starts being a genuine engine. (Why nobody owns anything here → Ownership.)
What Your Gift Does and Doesn't Buy
It funds the enterprise. It doesn't buy any part of it — nobody owns an Experiment Inc. business, including us, and profit returns to the mission rather than to any individual.
You'll get reporting on the enterprise you funded: what it's doing, whether it's working, and what it got wrong. That isn't a perk for giving at a certain level. Everyone who gives gets it.
